The conference was a significant event of the cleft world, presenting the best keynote talks: Brian Sommerlad (cleft surgeon), prof. William Shaw (orthodontist / European research coordinator), prof. Michele Rubini (geneticist) and prof. Helen Dolk (or representative) from EUROCAT.
Main streams in working sessions were divided into two sections: Research into improving treatment (diagnostics, audit, surgery, ortho, nursing, speech, psychology) and Research into Prevention (epidemiology, genetic, environment, gene/environment interaction, diet).
