The theme of the seminar “Care for the different” was relevant to the 2010 European year for combatting poverty and social exclusion. The prospective participants were mostly teachers working with children that have special educational needs or the responsible officers of local educational authorities, responsible for children having special educational needs.

The workshops within the seminar were hold in a traditional Bulgarian setting of 19th century. The seminar organisers had received special permission from the mayor of Koprivsthitsa to conduct the seminar inside the unique and well preserved houses – museums, which will allow all foreign and native guests to be inspired by the authentic spirit of traditional architecture. 

The culture agenda of the seminar introduced the traditional Bulgarian crafts. The attendants had the unique opportunity to get involved in the production of small pieces from traditional Bulgarian culture, to reveal the secrets of craft working and try ancient craftwork techniques. Apart from becoming awared of Bulgarian culture, such techniques could be useful in working with children with special needs, i.e. for conduction of art therapy classes.
